Most smaller utility trailers are constructed out of 2x2x.125 steel angle iron which is not even structural when loaded. It also has a much longer drawbar which means it tracks better, is much easier to back it up and you can haul longer items like a canoe.
Bolt treated wood bunks to the top rail as shown to haul a raft or bolt Thule bars for kayaks or canoes.
All LED lights and internal wiring is another big plus on this trailer. With a tubular frame trailer you have internal wiring and lighting so lights and wire cannot get torn off.
